7:30AM On my way to Tegus for the weekend. At the Guijerros, I have a bedroom and living room and a warm shower. Very relaxing day of catching up on expense account, trip log, etc.
7:30PM In the compound. End of Day.

6:30AM Breakfast at Guijerros
10:00AM Drove to Nacaome
2:00PM Fernando and I drove to Dr. Cerrato’s “country” house. It seems that one of Dr. Cerrato’s aunts owned this old country house just outside of Nacaome, along the river. Very quiet, very pleasant place to spend the afternoon.
6:00PM In the compound. End of day.

12:55PM Processing into Honduras. It took 1.5 hours! The longest time in 7 years.
2:30PM Finally headed south.
4:00PM In Nacaome. It turns out that my Honduras cell phone was stolen so Fernando and I drove to San Lorenzo to purchase another. We purchased a replacement phone with camera, voice mail, and everything a normal phone has for $17; and that wasn’t the cheapest phone. Visitors wonder why so many low-income (poor) people have cell phones. You can purchase a perfectly good used (translate; stolen) phone on the street corner for $5.00 and you can purchase enough minutes to last many days for 50 cents. As with pharmaceuticals, us Gringos ha Read More »
