7:30AM Fernando arrived. He and Roxana got most of the year done. Roxana’s uncle fell and hurt his arm last night and she has to take him to the Dr.’s this morning.
8:30AM I suggested that we ride out to look at the second school kitchen. If you recall, we approved to go halves on each of two schools with a maximum of $1,200 per school, or $2,400 total. Quite a while back, I put a halt to our involvement in the second school until I could see how the first school worked out. Progress on the second school stopped at that time. The foundation footers are poured and the walls are half up. I reminded Fernando that L4L will provide ½ of the cost of each of 2 schools up to $2,400 total; we really don’t care if the cost is $1,200/$1,200 or $1,500/$900 or $2,400/0 as long as there are two kitchens completed at the end of the project. We will reinforce this deal with the mayor this Friday. I told Fernando to resume work on the second school; but remember our limitations.
11:00AM At the motel. Fernando loaded the wireless internet that came with “my” phone. Discussed L4L stuff
12:00PM Lunch with Fernando. I asked that he work with Roxana into the evening, if necessary, to facilitate the accounting changes.
1:00PM Completing some trip records. This is one of the periods of total boredom between events; it’s essential that I be here to discover/salvage what I can from the Roxana/Banking debacle, try to get the registration project off dead center, and keep the school kitchens on track. On the other hand, there is really very little I can do but sit around the compound till Fernando calls later this evening. Guess I’ll study some Spanish.
3:30PM Fernando stopped by. He just talked to Roxana, the power is off so Roxana suggested doing records tomorrow. I said we really have to get the job done so I can talk with Roxana with real numbers in hand before I leave for Teguci. tomorrow. Fernando decided to go out and get done what work he can.
7:00PM Fernando stopped by on his way back from Roxana’s. He has all available data, now he needs sufficient time to post all the info and double check everything. If the power comes up, he’ll do some work this evening and finish in the morning.
