Between 60% and 70% of the population in Honduras lives below the poverty level. Those below the poverty level are hungry or homeless, or both. Statistics also show that as high as 60% of the children go to school hungry each and every day. That means of the approximately 100 students who attend the grade school in El Amatillo, Honduras, 66 of them must face a day of learning while hungry, or worse, they may skip school to beg for money along the streets to buy food. But we are making a difference already.
